The Project

The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center is the largest of its kind in the United States providing confidential, quality health care and support services to underserved and at-risk youth ages 10-22, regardless of their ability to pay. This NYC-based center wanted to give its Annual Breakfast of Legends fundraising event a facelift to re-energize its attending base during its 9th year of critical and growing impact.

The Work

MOPED reviewed the event’s past materials and anecdotes to build upon existing assets and ideals established by a dedicated history of staff members, board of directors and community ambassadors. From there, we storyboarded a series of possible visual directions for original artwork, including tone, color palette and superhero character traits, including his outfitting and what he was thinking in his thought-bubble.

The Results

  • It was important to us to invoke a personality for the center reflecting empowerment and strength (the superhero’s physicality and expression), courage in the face of challenge (the upturned wave), and dedication (the character’s thoughts).
  • We focused on celebrating the legendary and sustained work of the center, while encouraging donors and advocates to view their ongoing impact as positive, brave and vital to the success of the program’s mission, and to the future of the young people receiving direct services.
  • We delivered a dynamic print design package including a full-cover 100-page program and 5-page invitation, an event logo lockup, a reply card and envelope, and digital versions to integrate into the website.
